Dream Repair

There's nothing as clever as a dream
Strange snowy landscape a lonely scene
Everything quiet the night sky is white
Pink in the distant neon light
Restless hours tick by in digital silence
As silence with a familiar
tone and beat can do
Look back through the glass
You're looking though at you
Back and forth the echoed image calls
"Remember me, I'm you"

Eyes cloud with tears
The heart reaches back through the years
The child is dreaming
Come nearer to hear
The child is sleepwalking towards the truth
He is singing a song
And though the tune is strange
The rhythm jerky, jarring, jagged too
Something in the tune is familiar
The child is you

What are the words to his little song
I can't understand
And then maybe he's got them wrong.
